Marijuana 101
I figured since Cannabis is now legal in Washington state (my hometown) it's a great time to address the benefits this controversial plant has to offer.
Marijuana is the most widely used illegal drug in developed countries and there is always a new state pushing to have it legalized.
So why is there so much hype?...
Cannabis does have the potential to provide benefits for certain medical conditions from constituents like cannibinol, cannabidiol (CBD), cannabichromene, cannabigerol which are thought to have anti-inflammatory and pain relieving properties.
Studies have also shown that cannabinoids may have anti-tumor effects and help fight cancer.
The primary psychoactive compound is called delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol or commonly called THC.
There has been evidence it can help with:
Tourette's Syndrome
Multiple Sclerosis
ADHD
Glaucoma
Nausea
Decreased appetite
Insomnia
