We Call It Farm To Table Dining, They Call It Eating

The daily routine of the locals in the village is absolutely inspiring!  They get up with the sunrise and spend hours in their gardens making sure their crops of avocados, olives, grapes, tomatoes, kiwis and oranges are taken care of before they go about their day.  They send love to their chickens and are in tune with the Earth. I had my first traditional Greek meal with my new friends in the village yesterday and it was magical to say the least.

In the U.S we would spend hundreds of dollars to seek out the hippest restaurant that offers local, organic, farm-fresh food but here, it's just another day.  We ate eggs that were from an 80-year old man's chickens, avocados from the neighbors crop, and kiwi's grown around the corner. The dinner consisted of kiwi cheesecake made with Greek yogurt, grilled avocado salad, and an omelette made with spinach and eggs.

Today, ask yourself if you know where you food come from that you ate for breakfast or when was the last time you spoke with your neighbor?
